Effective date: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Leben in Deutschland (the "App"), developed by Bayram Kaya ("I", "me", "my"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the App. The App is offered free of charge and is supported by advertising; it also offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to remove ads.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Anonymous account identifier. When you open the App, it creates an anonymous, randomly generated identifier for your device using Firebase Authentication (Anonymous Sign-In). This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information — I have no way to know who you are from it.
Purchase status. If you purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app product, a record consisting of your anonymous identifier, the purchase status (yes/no), the purchase date, and the platform (Android/iOS) is stored in Cloud Firestore (a Google Firebase database) so that your ad-free status can be restored if you reinstall the App or switch devices. No payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) are ever collected or stored by me — payments are processed entirely by Google Play / the App Store.
Data kept only on your device. Your quiz progress (questions solved, correct answers, streak), favorited questions, mistakes list, language preference, and selected federal state are stored locally on your device only (using local device storage) and are never transmitted to me or any server. You can permanently erase this local data at any time using the "Reset All Data" button inside the App.
Advertising identifiers and log data. The App uses Google AdMob to display banner and rewarded video advertisements. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID), IP address, general location, app usage data, and similar technical information to serve and measure ads, and — where you have given consent — to personalize them. See "Advertising" below for details on how you control this.
The App relies on the following third-party services, each of which may collect information used to provide their functionality. Please review their own privacy policies for details:
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob to support free use of the App. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the App will show you a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) the first time you open it, allowing you to choose whether ads are personalized. You can change this choice at any time from the App's home screen via "Privacy Options".
Purchasing the "Remove Ads" in-app product permanently disables all advertising within the App; no further ad-related data is collected once this purchase is active.
You can learn more about how Google uses data from AdMob partner sites and apps, and manage your ad personalization settings across all Google services, at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and myadcenter.google.com.
The App offers a one-time, non-consumable purchase ("Remove Ads") for a fixed price. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play (or the App Store on iOS) under their own terms and privacy policies; I never receive or store your payment card details. Only the resulting purchase status (see "Information I Collect" above) is stored by me, to keep ads removed across reinstalls.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:
Because the App does not collect your name, email, or any directly identifying information, most requests can be fulfilled simply by deleting the App and its local data, and by using the "Reset All Data" button, which clears your local identifier association. For requests concerning your Firestore purchase record specifically, contact me using the details below.
Locally stored data (progress, favorites, preferences) remains on your device until you delete the App or use "Reset All Data". Purchase records in Cloud Firestore are retained for as long as needed to maintain your ad-free status, or until you request deletion.
The App is a study aid for an adult naturalization exam and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact me so it can be removed.
I use commercially reasonable means to protect the limited data associated with the App. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
